Hair changing color?

I had blonde hair until I was nine, when began to darken. It went from blonde to sandy blonde, and then light brown. I had a few red strands of hair when it was blonde, especially light blonde, but they faded when it darkened. Now, I am almost fourteen, and I'm not sure what color my hair is. It seems as if it is getting increasingly "ginger", as my sister calls it. I think it would be neat to have red hair, because it is colorful and stands out, but I'm not yet sure if I want it. I've been called a redhead quite a few times, but I've also been called a blonde/brunette.

What color is it, and why is it changing?

(This time, the link works.)

My sister says hair can turn red, which is caused by a disease called gingervitis, a play of words on gingivitis. I know she got this idea from South Park, but is there any truth behind it?

If it helps at all, I am a fourth French, an eighth German, a sixteenth Scandinavian, a bit Irish/Scottish and other mixed European.

Oh, and before you ask, I take care of it. I'm living in the same place, too, so it can't be the weather.

It looks strawberry blonde to me. It is normal for a persons hair to change color as they get older. My fiance was born with blonde hair and now his hair is a dark golden brown. It happens, but it's ok. When you are older, if you don't like your hair color you can always dye it. No biggie.

Hair changing color?

Your hair changes throughout your lifetime due to the effects of hormones on our production of melanin which is the source of our hair and skin color. Many women notice a big change during pregnancy. But many teenagers have some drastic changes too as their bodies change.
