Try doing your own foils then u can put on both colors at one time.

Go to sallys beauty supply and get some hair foils ( or use aluminom foil). Section off your hair where you want red and apply the color in the form of highlights. Then apply the black color the same way.
If you want mostly black you dont need to put the black hair color into foils.
MAKE SURE to put the red dye in first. The black takes a short time to color hair.
Dye both colors at the same time!! if you dye it black first you wont be able to color it red...(with out bleaching it)
I would get someone to help you with the foils

Please Don't Do Anything!
If you are using home dyes there is always the risk of it going wrong, and you will end up depressed because of the colour of your hair.
First of all, your hair could go ginger, depending on your hair type. If you are planning on putting both dyes on together it should go a toffee/ginger colour all over. Also the poroxide in the dye can snap and strip all of the goodness and vitamins out of your hair which will cause it to snap and just quite frankly fall out ! If you want your hair doing, please go to the hairdressers where they have proffesional dyes and can easily apply proper conditioner to your hair if damaged.
I Hope This Helped!

I've used the range and the colours are really vivid and cover brilliantly and true to the colour chart on the packet so I dont think you need to worry about turning ginger, however my neice used the Red shade on her hair and it faded really quickly so make sure you use a good shampoo/conditioner that says its got "colour protection".
Personally I'd section the bits you want to turn red and cover them with some foil (just regular alu foil will do) then dye the rest black after you've finished the black application and rinsed well (so the water is running clear with no dye in it)then you can dye the red bits. If you put black all over you wont be able to put the red ontop as it wont show up.
good luck x
In response to the answer above mine: I dont think peroxide is an issue, check the packaging for a list of "ingredients", even if it does contain peroxide (which I doubt) it still doesnt mean its going to ruin your hair you just have to be sure to condition your hair really well and use a deep conditioning treatment once a week.
