I am biracial and my hair is not caucasion, but for about a little over a year now, the left side of my hair has been shorter than my right. I have been trying to grow it out (the pic of me is from 2 years ago when it was actually even). I don't sleep on my left side, I generally wear my hair down, and I sleep in a silk bonnet.
Recently it had gotten so uneven that I had it chopped off to even it out and it has grown back short on that side AGAIN!
Is there anything I can do or any product out there I can use that will promote growth to the one side of my hair?
A few side notes: I do get relaxers every six weeks, my hair color is natural (no dye at all) and my mother, who is black does not have this problem with her hair, nor does her sister, so it isn't a genetic thing.
I'd appreciate any suggestions anyone may have!
My hair is always longer on one side than the other!?
Maybe you have not been parting your hair exactly down the middle. Even if you think it is centered, your eyes might be decieving you and it might be off by only a little bit. Try getting someone else to part your hair for you, as they might be able to get it centered perfectly.

what about your father? it could be a genetic trait on his side

Ifyou're not sleeping on that side of you head, then I doubt that you can be rubbing it thin.Parting down the middle, then checking the length. If this all fails I'd go to a dermetolosist, it is possible you have a scalp disorder. A professional should be able to help you.(Also have you ever paid attention to how long the straightener stays on that side of your hair, compared to he rest of your head?)
