My fine, thin hair is getting finer and thinner!?

i am only 22, white female, and my hair has been thinning for a couple of years. it's starting to get very noticeable. it's very fine, thin, and dry. i pull it back because i have to for work, and because it looks awful down. especially on the sides by my ears it is extremely thin and i can clearly see my scalp more than my hair. when looking at photos, people have asked me if the sides of my head were shaved! it falls out in the shower and in my brush. there are also sections of hair that are much shorter than the rest (most of my hair is about 6 inches past my shoulders) and they stick out all over the place once i pull my hair back. that makes me use hair spray to hold it down, and probably damages the hair more. i've never colored, permed, or done anything chemical to my hair. sometimes my scalp is very itchy. i don't know what to do anymore. any ideas? please don't tell me to go to the doctor. i don't have insurance or money. ahhh help me!!

I hate to say this because you are so young, but try some womens rogain, only a bottle you wont have to use it after that if thats your problem. You also said your scalp is itchy, Im hoping oyu dont have lice, but you might have a really DRY scalp which causes your hair to fall out. I have had a scalp thats dry like that but my hair is thick although it still looked like I had bald spots. I think its by paul mitchel its called TEA TREE, there is shampoo and conditioner, get both. Rub it into your scalp and massage it a little, let it sit there while you shave or somehting for about five minutes and then wash it out. The conditioner doesnt need to sit but def massage your scalp, you can leave some in if you want to try and rejuvinate your hair but I wouldent do that all the time because it makes your hair look dirty. good luck.
