Hair dying questions!!!?

I have been hi lighting my hair blonde for about 3 years now(my hair is naturally dark blonde/ light brown) i need a change and want to try going darker... not like black but just a dark brown, i am scared to do anything perminent right away since i have been pretty blonde my whole life, is there anything that i can do that will wash out? if i decide i like my hair dark i will go to my hair stylist and have her do it but i don't want to spend $130 on something i won't like and be stuck with. it will be a one time thing so im not too worried about my hair being damaged... please any suggestions on brands would be a big help!!!

There are these demi-permanent colors made by clairol. they are level 2. make sure you use level 2 because it is not permanent. pick a light ash brown shade because it will always come out darker then the packaging. if you don't like it, it fades over a month or two and you can start highlighting again.

Dyeing darker over bleach requires professional experience. So if its a big thing for you and you dont want to risk a bad hair job, then you `ve a much better chance of it working right at a salon.

To go dark and have it look even and natural and last etc they need to put base color and stuff in there.

You could try a rinse colour first at home, which should come out in one or 2 washes but if dyeing at home always check the box. Dark dye still has bleach in it.

go to your sallys or any beauty supply and ask for a color rinse, or you could go with a demi-color. A good brand is Wella, and Matrix ColorSync. If you go darker, you can't go back to your natural color. It will only deposit color and won't lift. You can expect to have the dark ends for as long as it takes to grow out or to strip it. I would suggest getting low lights. It can run you anywhere from 30 to 100 dollars, but you can see yourself with darker shades and your natural tone, without having to commit to one or the other. Don't use Clariol or store bought highlighting or lowlighting gel. Go to a stylist, and do it the right way before it costs you more money to fix.

Do not try to save money by doing it yourself!!! go to the salon 130 is a really, really good price, maybe too good, go somewhere a little more expensive, more trustworthy like, Aveda (do not go to "Super"cuts). most likely, if you do it yourself, you are going to be very unhappy, and youa re going to end up at the salon either way.
