Hair perm?

Is it save for a girl between 11 and 15 years old to get a perm? I have heard storys about some preeteen/early teenage girls to loose their hair a few months after they get their hair permed. I have poofy hair and I really want it curly so my mom and I were reading about perms on the internet and some girls my age have gone completely bald from hair perms. Is there anything I can do to get a perm and still keep my hair?

I'd say over 13 years old should be fine. 11 years old is very young though. But I'm in cosmetology school and have already done many perms...and have never learned or heard of girls going bald. But keep in mind that during puberty, your hair texture completely changes and if it decides to change while that perm is in, it may look extremely crazy and have damage. So I'd at least wait until you are developed. Ask some hair stylists for advice.

lol i've never heard of kids going bald, if you are worried you could ask for an acid wave which is less alkaline (strong) you'll be fine... trust me

Ok im gonna tell you this now.. Im 15... I was 13 when i got my perm.. in my opinion they are realli stupid.alot of ppl i talked to hate it..... MY OPINION tho..BUT when i got it i dint lose any hair.... and no its not to old to get a perm

The only way your hair would fall out is if it isnt done correctly, it has nothing to do with your age. Make sure you go to a professional and you will be fine
