Hair texture/style changing? curious!?

Hi all. Im 25 years old, and have had pin straight, thick hair my entire life. I'm notorious for letting it grow long, hacking it all off, growing it again, etc. Ive been growing my hair out now for a little over a year (its just above my shoulders), and this time around my hair is extremely frizzy, and has actually become wavy in some areas. (not all, just some, so it looks rediculous lol). Is this what happens when you start to get old or what lol?!?!?!

has this happened to anyone else? Im extremely annoyed because I loved my straight hair, now i have to use the hair dryer to make it all straight. It sucks lol.

No more hacking girlie!!! And your hair does go through it's phases just like the rest of our body *sigh*. The anagen phase lasts anywhere from 3-5 years so it is possible for the texture of your hair to change that often...or sometimes not at all. Pregnancy can change your hair texture as well as medications, change in eating habits/exercise. Many possibilies. A lot of times a big turning point for women and our bodies is age 25 so sound like you're right on the mark with this one. Get it texturized. It being thick a couple good things my be have some notch cutting done as well as thinned out with thinning shears to remove some of the bulk. My hair is thick and has a beautiful natural wave in the back but is pin straigt in the front so it is a major pain in the buttocks *smile*. I recently had it thinned and it's MUCH easier to take care of. Try using a serum such as Bolage Smoothing Serum or CHI (this does two things...keeps hair from frizziness and protects it from extreme heat). If you get it thinned out it will take you much less time to fix it. Put serum in hair, blowdry, then if you don't mind spending a little bit of money (eBay...the bids usually start at $50+) buy a CHI flat iron. I promise you, they are the best on the market! Hope this helps and let us know what you end up deciding on! Good luck dear!

I like this website b/c it gives links to a slew of other websites as well....try it out!

I believe that hair texture changes every seven years or so. Also, if you've had a pregnancy, your hair texture can change due to the excess hormones.

use a hair straightner. the ones that are like $50 are pretty good. but i like the one that cost $1000. my hair is straight but i like using a straightener because it makes it look better

The same thing happened to me! Growing up my hair was always very straight and long. Then when I was in my early 20's, I got my hair cut really short and dyed it red. I kept it that way for about a year, and when I decided to grow it out it grew back wavy/frizzy. I used to spend a lot of time blowing it dry straight- just to go out in the humidity and have it curly again in no time. Now I just use products for curly hair to give the curls a little definition and control the frizz-no more blow drying and a lot less time getting ready in the morning!! Also my boyfriend likes it better curly than straight ~_~
