Oily hair...Please HELP!!?

I have washed my hair with many different kinds of hair shampoo and conditionar, also I take showers daily (my husband said that may be a reason it looks oily, i may be using too much conditionar, but i have tried only using on my hair every other day)...my hair really isn't oily to the feel, but looks really oily. Does anyone know any secrects that will make my hair look less oily? My hair is a dark brownish color, and i am in my twenties and a mother of one (if that information is any help) Please if you know anything that will make my hair look less oily please let me know.

I know that you said you've used many types of shampoos. But I am going to suggest 2 more things for you. Tea tree oil shampoo (Paul Mitchell makes an excellent one). Tea tree oil helps to heal many skin/scalp conditions, by balancing and clarifying. It acts like an astringent as well. This would be my pick 100%. But if you have already tried that..............

My aunt has been a hairdresser for over twenty years, and one night the woman told me something I will never forget. She does not use shampoo in her hair.....ever. She uses lemon JOY dish detergent (she just puts it into a shampoo bottle to conceal it in the shower so nobody looks at her funny). She swears it is the best for clarification, removing buildup, and for conditioning your hair. Her hair is super healthy and always looks soft. I use this occasionally for a clarifying shampoo, but i have super thick hair and usually stick to my moisturizing shampoo. It does work well though, I have tried it.

Also I would suggest to be careful not to overdo it with hair product. The oily apperance from your hair could very well be from product buildup. We all get it, but of course our hair responds individually.

Try not to take a shower for about 2 days. Your husband is probably right. You should'nt take so many showers. Its not good to wash your hair all the time.

Sounds weird, but beer works great. Massage beer into hair once a week (on dry hair), let sit for 5 minutes. Then shampoo and DONT condition. It works!

Try using products that are specially formulated for oily hair. Make sure you are rinsing your conditioner out when you wash your hair and try to advoid to many leave in conditioners in your hair. Try using sprays that prevent your hair from going oily like Sunsilk Conditoning Spray which keeps your hair moist but not oily. I hope this helps.

just put conditioner on your ends and and shampoo your SCALP very good because that is where the oil is coming from

Buy shampoo and conditioner for oily hair. You can also ask a hair stylist (or somebody who works where you get your hair-cut) for the best shampoo and conditioner.

P.S. don't stop using conditioner

what part of your hair is oily? if its ur roots then pull ur hair into a ponytail and apply conditioner only to the ends. if its ur ends, only apply them to ur roots. also, what styling products do u use? styling products tend to grease your hair up and weigh it down. there are some shampoos and conditioners that are for oily hair: try Aussie Cleanse and Mend shampoo and conditioner.

You could just put less shampoo in.. That helps with me and take shower a lot.

i don't know exactly what you should do but maybe you shouldn't wash it as much. that often. it is said that you should wash it 3 times a week because it strips your hair of natural oils. but that does not seem to be your poblem here.

what works for me is garier fructise

...sorry i dont really know how to spell it

but im a teenager and ive got a really oily head

itll take a few days to see any difference but eventually it wont be so greasy looking

shampoo the top of your head and rub it into your scalp and work to the ends

then flip your head upside down so you only condition your hair, not your scalp

like i said, it will take a few washes

theyve got the huge bottles at costco too which is great so you dont have to keep going back to the store

Well if you don't like to use conditioner than use 2 in 1 shampoo or Head And Shoulders shampoo. Conditioner kinda like a detangler. Good luck to.

Put a teaspoon of baking soda in your hand then pour the amount of shampoo you plan to use on it. Rub your hands together and then rub into your hair. The baking soda will remove excess buildup and oils. No conditioner afterward.
